Landon Barnett will be graduating from Marcus High School with a Animal Science CTE Pathway from TECC-West. Landon has been a member of Lewisville FFA since he was in the 5th grade. He served as member of the officer team this year as Secretary. He has been accepted into Texas A&M University in the fall (Whoop!), majoring in Agriculture Systems Management with a minor in Economics. Just a few of his many other awards and accolades from the 2023/2024 include :

Peyton White is graduating from Marcus High School. We have appreciated Peyton's commitment as he served as this years President of the Lewisville FFA Chapter. Peyton will be attending Tarleton State University in the fall of 2024, majoring in Ag Business.
Faith Hess - Graduating from Marcus High School. Faith will start attending Weatherford College in the fall where she will focus on the Veterinary Technology Program to continue her journey to become a livestock veterinarian. Faith served the Lewisville FFA Chapter this year in her role as Vice President.
Trinity Curtis - Graduating from Lewisville High School ranked 37/1062! TOP 10%!! Trinity will be headed north this summer to attend Oklahoma State University where she will major in Animal Science / Pre Vet Medicine.

The LISD FFA Parents and Friends Club will be awarding scholarships to qualifying applicants from the current LISD graduating class of 2025. To qualify for this scholarship, you must be graduating from high school in the applying year, a current FFA chapter member, and have been an active participant in the FFA program for a minimum of two years. In addition, the applicant’s parent(s) must be members of the LISD FFA Parents & Friends Booster Club for a minimum of two consecutive years including the year of student applicant graduation. (Exception given to NEW LISD students for graduating year). All necessary application forms, references and requirements must be completed and turned in by the deadline provided below to be considered for the scholarship award. The Agriculture Advisor Questionnaire must accompany the application.
The scholarship application process will consist of an application, in person interview, three letters of recommendation and essays. The application and supporting information will be reviewed by the Parents & Friends Scholarship Committee and the in-person interview will be orchestrated by an external community interview panel. The weighting of each application component will consist of the application, Essays, in person interview and letters of recommendation scores.
Two scholarships will be offered this year:
To be considered for the Glenda Johnson Memorial Scholarship, which is a community service focused award, each applicant is required to complete a community service-based essay, the scholarship agreement form, the entire scholarship application, submit three letters of reference and participate in an in-person interview. Only one recipient will receive the Glenda Johnson Memorial Scholarship.
To be considered for the LISD FFA Parents and Friends Club Scholarship the applicant must complete the scholarship agreement form, the entire scholarship application including the P&F Essay, submit three letters of reference and participate in an in-person interview.

Capital Farm Credit has many opportunities for students across the state to be challenged and use their voice in their community. To view all Capital Farm Credit Scholarship and Grant opportunities
Each Texas Farm Credit branch location selects one local student each year who will be awarded a $1,000 academic grant and the title of Ag Champ, with a total of 18 Ag Champs in all. In honor of each Ag Champ, Texas Farm Credit also contributes $1,000 to each awardee’s FFA chapter or 4-H club.
Texas Farm Credit presents $5,000 postsecondary scholarships to ten future ag leaders. These scholarships are named in honor of the late Marsha Pyle Martin: A native of Paris, Texas, Marsha was a strong advocate for youths and agriculture who passed away in 2000 following a 30-year Texas Farm Credit Career.
Two $1,000 scholarships are available to high school seniors and two to college undergraduates. Students have to be student members of the Texas Corn producers Association to apply and must plan to attend a Texas college or University full time. You can apply for the National Corn Growers Association with the same application.

Texas Farm Bureau devotes a large amount of resources towards youth programs and scholarships. Annually we award over $240,000 in scholarships in a variety of packages designed to meet different student needs.

Applications are now available for the annual Texas Big Game Awards (TBGA) Wildlife Conservation College Scholarship Program, sponsored by Carter’s Country Outdoor Stores and the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of Texas. Celebrating its 33rd year, the Texas Big Game Awards will award $25,000 in college scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year.
All applicants for the TBGA scholarship program must major in an agriculture and/or natural resource-related field of study. Based on where you live within the TBGA program’s regional designations, one (1) $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to an applicant residing in each of the eight TBGA Regions at their respective regional banquets. The overall top scholarship applicant will receive a $5,000 college scholarship to be awarded at the Texas Wildlife Association’s (TWA) annual convention in July.
Any entering college freshman (graduating high school senior), or entering college sophomore, or entering college junior is eligible to apply for one of the available scholarships. The scholarship applications will be reviewed and ranked by a scoring committee using set criteria. Applicants do not have to participate in the TBGA to be eligible for the scholarships.

Living to Serve Grants provide an opportunity for FFA chapters (middle school, high school or alumni/collegiate) and state FFA associations/foundations to seek funding to support various types of service projects through a competitive application process.

Do you need financial assistance to help start or expand your SAE? A limited number of grants of $1,000 each are available to current FFA members each year. Your FFA membership must be current, and applicants must be in grades 7-12 and demonstrate financial need. The online application process opens in October and closes at 8 p.m. EST on Nov 15. The application selection process is highly competitive with many more applicants than available grants so submit early and do your show us your best work. Grant recipients are announced in mid-December.
Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Grants of $1,000 are available to start or expand member SAEs. For continuing SAE projects, a limited number of $5,000 and $9,000 grants are available to eligible members who can show three-year goals, a timeline and a budget for their projects. The SAE Grant application process opens in October and closes on Nov. 15. Eligible grant applications are scored and the grant recipients will be announced in mid-December.
Grant applications are evaluated by the SAE Grant Committee and are awarded primarily on demonstrated financial need. Please Note: The advisor’s statement is crucially important in establishing the financial need and eligibility of the applicant.
Each year, our corporate sponsors and donors pledge to award a certain number of grants within each SAE Grant Pathway/Focus Area. Read the descriptions for each SAE Grant Pathway/Focus Area carefully and select the option that best fits your SAE project in your application. You may also select a secondary SAE Grant Pathway/Focus Area in which your project may also qualify.
All grant recipients are required to submit a mid-year progress report by June 30 detailing the use of the grant funds.
